The Truth: THE SHATTERHEADS consist of Philip Vaduva (vocals), Kristian Lindberg (drums), Sanna Nyman (bass), Joseph Jeppsson (guitar) and Samuel Nilsson (guitar). They are from Malmo, in Sweden, and 'A Friend With A Car' is their first release on fierce panda. Classic Scandiepop it is, too, bouncy and squirmy and cute with guitars crawling all over the studio and big fat sonic outbursts like 'Girl From Mars' being rocketed to the moon. The middle eight is ace as well.

"We recorded this track at Swedens perhaps most famous studio - Tambourine Studios," says singer Philip. "Joar Sylvan, our producer, did an excellent job at digging out the track's psychedelic undertones while still allowing it to be what it was written as - a pop song in all earnestness.

"The meaning behind the track is pretty straightforward - it�s an ode to that one friend who�s always up for just turning the key and taking off with you - in their own car of course. In an era where cars seem to have become more and more obsolete for urbanists and bike-lovers alike, the song just tries to encapsulate that feeling of going nowhere fast, and that not being a bad thing. We hope we did that feeling justice."

'A Friend With A Car' is the latest track to see the blight of day as part of fierce panda's ongoing A&R partnership with Reverbnation. It's also the first track to be taken from The Shatterheads' second album release, due in 2023. The first, 'The Shatterheads' appeared in 2020 and is an excellent blast which sounds like 'Hawaii 5.0', Placebo and The Osmonds. But not at the same time.
