| a bubblegrunge-tasting fierce panda one sheet The Band: WYNONA BLEACH The Release: ‘RELIGION’ The Format: DIGITAL SINGLE The Labes: FIERCE PANDA (UK) / PROPELLER SOUND RECORDINGS (US) The Release Date: MARCH 11TH 2026 The Truth: Belfast and furious quartet WYNONA BLEACH have shared a new track, ‘Religion’, from their upcoming sophomore album, ‘Animal Style’, released on May 29th on fierce panda (UK) and Propeller Sound Recordings (USA). ‘Religion’ itself is a succinct signpost towards the long player, delivering relentless energy, merging grungy guitar riffs with pop-rock melodies and adding a visceral grit with a punk edge. Speaking about the vibes behind ‘Religion’ the band explain: “The track is about seeing someone you find so attractive, the dirty thoughts make you wanna find God. It’s less a love song, and more ‘lust’ song. It also calls out fake people, fake society, organised religion and how everything made out to be ‘cool’ is usually a con.” Recorded in a an old ballroom above a working men’s club in Belfast and produced by guitarist Jonny Woods alongside Andy Bradfield (Bjork, The XX, the Manics) and Avril Mackintosh (Bryan Adams, Marillion), the upcoming album showcases some of the band’s most complete and incisive work to date. Small wonder, since 2025 saw them indulge in a manic 22-date tour of the US, from NYC to LA via SXSW and Nashville. Along the way they played Bob Clearmountain’s Apogee studios and picked up a deal with US label Propeller Sound Recordings. Quite the trip, and quite the achievement for this fervently DIY outfit who’ve supported Alice In Chains and Ash as well as accumulated a litany of worldwide radio plays and nominations at the Irish Music Awards in the wake of their debut ‘Moonsoake’ album. ‘Animal Style’ - it really is quite the musical beast. |
