The Truth According To Facebook: Terror Pigeon! are about "sex, hugs and pizza rolls", describe themselves as "the world's sweatiest band" and their influences are encapsulated in two words, those two words being "underwear" and "parties".

What we do know is that a Mr Neil Fridd is the creative driving force, that they call Nashville home and ‘Live It Up Before You Die It Up!’, the second Terror Pigeon! album, is a riot of colour-crazed choruses, thrift store electronics and indestructibly buoyant melodies. There’s a party going on in their sweaty, nerdy heads, and we’re all invited. Just don’t forget the tiger print pants.

Alternatively, in their own words: “So if an asteroid was gonna take out earth tomorrow, and your friends were having a huge party to celebrate what a wild ride it’s been, when you showed up this band would be playing. Join them in their jubilant, dance party salute to the supreme ass kickingness of life.”

That party has been going on on the road as well, as Terror Pigeon! transformed themselves into touring monsters and have been on the US highway for, like, forever. The 'Unreasonably Long Bus Rides Tour' of October 2013 is our favourite, and the riotously poignant ‘Forget Everything That Makes You Want To Not Be This Band’ suitably encapsulates the deathless joys of being a rock and roll star in your head and in a van. “The world was made for kids like us!” indeed.

Continuing the exclamation mark theme, lead-off track back home in America last month was the brilliantly exuberant girl / boy shout-along 'Girl!', which Stereogum wisely decided is “the happiest, most pure moment of music I've heard this year...Based on these five minutes, I'd follow Terror Pigeon! blindly to the ends of the earth."

Continuing even further with the exclamation mark theme ‘Live It Up Before You Die It Up!’ is the follow-up to 'I Love You! I Love You! I Love You And I'm In Love With You! Have An Awesome Day! Have The Best Day Of Your Life!' which was released on David Byrne's Luaka Bop label in 2010 and instantly caused 183 bloggers’ typewriting keyboards to explode.

Terror Pigeon! were recently announced as the "best pigeon band in the world" on www.pigeonsandplanes.com - pigeon-fanciers may care to note that their new panda label mates Woodpigeon were third. We think that says something.
