“A meteoric rising force who are able to intrigue, shock and utterly enthral.” - www.thelineofbestfit.com
‘Badoom’ is the new single by London duo Scrounge (aka singing guitarist Lucy & drumming singer Luke), following hot on the heels of radio smash 'Purpose'. Powerful and straining with raw tension, the song is the second to be released from their debut EP, called 'Ideal', which will follow three weeks later on the 18th October on fierce panda.
Much like 2018’s getting-to-the-point one word single releases ‘Etch’ and ‘Crimson’ ‘Badoom’ is a short sharp shock of DIY energy. Or a little bit like early PJ Harvey playing the local Sonic Youth Club. Or, in their own words…
“Badoom represents the release of the underlying tension caused by the stress and mundanity of everyday life. Centred around a repeated lyrical mantra, churning guitars, and a rising sense of hysteria, Badoom is chaotic yet cathartic.”
‘Badoom’ arrives with the Scrounge’s first ever video, a karaoke special shot and directed by Amanda Tooke – artistic collaborator since the band met at Goldsmiths. This DIY appeal extends into promotion, organising and throwing day and night party ‘Haus of Scrounge’ in Deptford on Saturday 28th September with a line-up that includes friends and luminaries from the fertile South London – details below.
Having supported Another Sky, Desperate Journalist, Phobophobes, Float, Hater and Gaygirl Scrounge are now readying themselves to get thoroughly disorientated at these shattered shows here and here:
