more info
FIGHTMILK are three boys and one girl living in London Town who make punchy
occasionally potty-mouthed indiepop with punky guitars and perky vocals. ‘Pity Party’ is their new single
released digitally on June 9th
and is taken from the forthcoming ‘Pity Party’ EP
which is due on July 14th and which itself follows on from the excellent ‘The Curse Of Fightmilk’ EP which came out as a DIY release last year.

And
bless you us
D
I and Y are the key letters here as Fightmilk are hearty warriors on an underground scene currently bristling with C86-loving indie kids and hand-crafted communal live shows from The Gunners up north to the George Tavern out east and several gloriously shabby boozing points in between. Better still
it’s safe to say that Fightmilk have a certain way with a berserkly self-deprecating lyric and a pithy put down. “Don’t you wanna do me? / I would wanna do me!” shouts singer Lily Rae in ‘Pity Party’ like the long-lost half-pissed lovechild of Eddie Argos and Louise Wener
tossing crushed clumps of birthday cake at the crowd.

We saw Fightmilk play a fizzy Pandamonium show at The Victoria in January with Purs. And then we saw them again at The Hunter Club in west Suffolk in the spring. This makes them the first band to ever sign to fierce panda on the back of a gig in Bury St Edmunds
which is charming and off-kilter and weirdly instinctive – a bit like Fightmilk themselves. Or
as they say in their own words:

“Fightmilk formed in mid-2015
after a string of breakups
mundane jobs and Carly Rae Jepsen-soundtracked dance parties. Our songs are about getting drunk with the right people and falling in love with the wrong ones. We leave odd time signatures or tricky chord changes to other people. Not enough people are making pop music anyway. You can dance to all of our songs apart from the slow ones
though we'd like you to try and dance to those too.

“We've done shows with Desperate Journalist
Alex Chilltown
Petrol Girls and Dingus Khan
amongst others
and self-released an EP and a festive charity single last year. We're planning to get an album out at the start of 2018
which we hope will be as good as E•MO•TION
but with more guitars and swearing.”

Fightmilk consist of the following four people. Accept no substitutes. Lily Rae (vocals/guitar)
Alex (guitar/vocals)
Adam (bass)
Nick (drums).
