The Sort-of-Truth: CHILI PALMER is the proverbial enigma wrapped in a ball of dark, dark wool and locked in a box of maddening mystery. No gigs. No rules. No clues.

What we do know is that ‘S.I.T.’ is the first ever CHILI PALMER release. What we also know is that, like some groovy kind of lovelorn lockdown marriage of convenience, the musical relationship between the two shadowy protagonists behind the CHILI PALMER project has exploded into deliciously positive life in these desperately uncertain times. Now comes the time to feel their summer breeze.

Because the end result is a raucously uplifting, sumptuously-realised gumbo of pop, soul and funk which nods admiringly at The Blackbyrds and Luther Vandross but brings a modern romantic zing to thoroughly aerate the hipster airwaves of today. “Say it once, say it twice, you’re the greatest thing I’ve ever had in my life / Say it once, say it twice, you’re the reason I get into bed every night,” they enthuse over a sparkling collage of melodic spills, thrills and aching bells.
