Hello there weary indie traveller. And welcome to the fierce panda website, the home of all manner of head-scratching, band-crashing, teeth-gnashing poptastic delights. Our current roster features such chewy leftfield poppets as THE RAVEONETTES, WHITE RABBITS, SHITDISCO, THE BLACKOUT and YOU SAY PARTY! WE SAY DIE! among others, although by the time we have finished typing this welcoming message that could well have changed. That's indierock for you.And we should know that better than most: over the course of thirteen years, 200 singles, 50 albums and a handful of lovingly faded t-shirts fierce panda has seen them come, go and - on the odd occasion - come back again. This here website will therefore tell you all you need to know about past panda releases by the likes of THE MACCABEES, ART BRUT, COLDPLAY, IDLEWILD, DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE, THE MUSIC, PLACEBO, iLiKETRAiNS, KEANE and, of course, OAS*S.
Not only that but our horizons have expanded beyond the drizzly delights of North London to encompass fierce panda canada, which is a bit like the normal fierce panda, only based in Vancouver, Canada and soon-to-be specialising in homegrown Canadian talent. To touch base with the panda in either territory simply click on to 'contact us'. To keep up to date with fierce panda tuneage head towards www.myspace.com/fiercepanda by gum. And for anything else simply guide your mouse around these strange electronic byways and highways. One day fierce panda WILL be a specialist subject on 'Mastermind'. Be prepared...

THE RAVEONETTES/YOU WANT THE CANDY |
| |
‘You Want The Candy’ is the second single to be taken from the duo’s third album, the breathlessly titled ‘Lust, Lust, Lust’ which came out on fierce panda last November to a veritable hailstorm of critical appreciation. If lead-off single ‘Dead Sound’ caught the band in shadowy mood, carefully marking their return to the fray for the first time since leaving Sony, then ‘You Want The Candy’ sees the swoonsome twosome really put their foot down and head for the heart of the song. Think bubblegum thrills. Think jagged indie pills. Think the Marychain sawing The Primitives’ alterno dancefloor smash ‘Crash’ in half. If that feels good you’ll definitely want ‘You Want The Candy’.
‘You Want The Candy’ is out on limited edition 7” vinyl and download on Feb 25th |

WHITE RABBITS/FORTNIGHTLY |
| |
WHITE RABBITS are from Brooklyn, New York. They form a veritable 12-legged groove machine gunning its way through the history of pop and swapping instruments whenever the mood takes it. As suggested by the presence of two drummers and the gear-sharing behaviour the vibe is chaotic, convivial and, as also suggested by the fact that until recently the boys all shared a house, feverishly communal.
‘Fort Nightly’ is the debut album by WHITE RABBITS and already the good surfers of www.thetripwire.com have voted it best longplayer of 2007 in the United States. Fair play, too – consider that over on www.myspace.com/whiterabbits they say they are influenced by (and we quote) “William Tell’s Second Arrow Cricket Club” and it becomes obvious that we aren’t dealing with yet more drooling sub-post-Libertines-esque types here. Rather, WHITE RABBITS, alongside cheery contemporaries Vampire Weekend and Harlem Shakes, are representing a more intelligent new wave from New York.
Casual onlookers may be able to pick through the raffish pianos and rogueish rhythms of ‘Fort Nightly’ and also spot the sonics of 10cc, The Walkmen, Bow Wow Wow, Cold War Kids and – at one particularly splendid point – the ghostly echo of ‘Ghost Town’ by The Specials.
‘Fortnightly’ is out on cd and download on March 10th and frankly we can’t wait. |

THE BLACKOUT/IT’S HIGH TIDE BABY |
| |
THE BLACKOUT consist of six riff-gunning reprobates from Merthyr Tydfil in Wales and cranking up that engine they most certainly have been over the past couple of years, taking their hectic, heroic rock noises to places far, wide and further and wider still. By the time fierce panda picked up on the band in the middle of 2006 they had already played 100 gigs with no label or booking agent doing their dirty work. And throughout that time ‘It’s High Tide Baby!’ casually evolved into the band’s calling card, their screamo anthem, the thinking and drinking fans’ favourite. It’s amazing the effect a few heartfelt massive “Woah! Woah!s” in a chorus can have on a moshpit.
Earmarked as a future single eighteen months ago when an early version appeared on the debut mini-album ‘The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout’ ‘It’s High Tide Baby!’ has followed the band on shows with Fightstar, Eighteen Visions and Enter Shikari and ticked the kids pink on the recent Taste Of Chaos jaunt alongside Gallows, The Used and Aiden. Unsurprisingly a full blown version appeared on the debut full length album ‘We Are The Dynamite!’, released on October 1st last year, and unsurprisingly old rock comrade Ian Watkins from Lostprophets was on hand to add his vocals to the superballad fray when called upon to reprise his role.
It’s High Tide Baby will be out on limited edition 7” vinyl and digital download on Feb 25th |
